What Causes Increase In Blood Pressure While Lying Down?

My BP goes way up 170/ 96 when I lie down. I get jittery and anxious and not able to sleep. Blood tests have been close to normal. WBC was slightly elevated last week and they tx d with cipro for possible gallstone problems. I am now taking toprol 25 mg xl that helps keep my bp around 120/70 but still feel terrible when I lie down. I do not have the stamina that I should have. (I walk 2 miles a day up very steep hills before this started. ) Now I get tired very easily. I wonder if adrenals was functioning properly.

Hi welcome to HCM.
Elevated blood pressure can contribute to blood pressure fluctuations. These positional variations are more prominent in the prone position when associated congestive cardiac failure is present. This should be screened through 2 dimensional echocardiography.Congestive cardiac failure can lead to symptoms of lethargy and weakness.A CT scan abdomen can rule out adrenal pathology.Consult your cardiologist for further help.
Thank you
