I m a 43 yo woman that exercises 3-4x s/week and eats relatively healthy (very little red meat, salads, chicken, no soda, etc). However, I have slowly gained weight over the past 5-6 years. I m starting to wonder if my thyroid is part of the issue b/c no matter how hard i try, i can t seem to drop the weight. I am looking into going to see an endocrinologist but wondering what questions that i should really be asking him/her.
Apart from weight gain, which other symptoms do u have ? Hypothyroidism usually cause cold intolerance, weight gain, irregular menses, lethargy - fatigue etc. But it doesn't cause more than 6-8kg weight gain.
