General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. HCG is a hormone for fetal growth. So it rise is proportional to fetal growth The doubling time of HCG reading in early pregnancy is every 2 or 3 days. This indicates normal fetal growth. - Though slower rise in HCG indicates miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy, some normal pregnancies also show such readings . - So it's better to wait for few days and reassess the HCG level- which can be supported by USG findings to come to conclusion about management of your pregnancy. -Till then take bed rest. Continue hormonal suplements as advised by your doctor Be positive. Thanks.
