What Causes Increased Appetite After Total Thyroid Removal?

Hi. I had a total thyroid removal the end of June 2016. A week or so after had TSH measured and was a value of 11.0. Endo Dr started me of almost 300 units of thyroxine hormone due to my weight at that time of 294 and lowest since surgery was 280 now 290. The first week of Sept have a value of 1.3 TSH and related to free F3 a .45. My huge problem since surgery is my uncontrollable appetite. I can eat continuous while awake and during the night if I wake up will eat too. My weight goes up and down 10-20 pounds at a time. I am a 43 year old male. My thyroid cancer was papillary and pathology showed cancer was within surgical margins. Surgeon said little piece of thyroid was left in front of vocal cord nerves to preserve Voice damage. He suggested Radioactive Iodine but my Endo Dr refuses to do it due to new guidelines that say it s not advised. I can t handle this voracious appetite and weight situation. My bowel movements will increase or slow like my weight. When I go can go all day. This is crazy and don t know what to do. I am diabetic and take insulin but never had this appetite. Can anyone please help with suggestions etc. Thanks!
