What Causes Increased Heart Beat While Weaning Off Sotalol?

Hi. I am a fifty four year old female and have afib. In Dec. I had an ablation at Barnes Jewish snd have felt much better. I wanted to discontinue my Sotalol with my doctors blessing and have tried twice my cutting back on the amount I take, but each time after about a week my heart rate goes up to around 100 beats per minute or faster. Does this mean I will have to stay on meds forever?

I really appreciate your concern, looking to the history given here it is advisable to stay on drug and follow up too, now better to see the cardiologist and mean time you can start taking medicine again, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
