What Causes Increased Hunger Along With Abdominal Pain Post Child Birth?
Hi there. Ive had my son on march 13th last year. Ive had the mirena iud since may last year. These last couple of months ive been eating/snacking constantly, ive picked up so much weight, im bloated, my boobs are huge, it feels like kicks, my tummy hurts. Ive been exercising a lot but is unable to shed the weigt. Im just picking up more weight. Any advice?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Mirena IUD is loaded with long acting hormones which cause irregular menses and tend to increase in weight. Self diet consciousness with regular exercises can avoid such side effects. You should get your USG pelvis done for confirmation of certain conditions and consult your gynecologist / endocrinologist for specific advice and medication.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
