---healthy 59 year old female (exercises, average weight, good fitness) with graduate school education and good health habits(non-smoker), no other medical conditions, good eating habits, and good social support. --who works with pediatrics (often sick) in a hospital. No family history of respiratory conditions -- lived in the south -- parents smoked (exposure risk not nec. correlated with lung CA). --Question: why, even with increased exposure, might I have a life-time increased incidence of pneumonia ( 3 episodes, sig.) greater than that expected? ---Goal: questions to ask PCP / specialist other than ( do you smoke which I have and do not ).
