What Causes Increased Muscle Spasms In The Knee After Taking Cortisone Injection?

I received a cortisone injection five days ago at the base of my big toe to treat hallux limitus and I have had a muscle spasm in my knee on the same leg since. The spasm has increased and has been incessant today. Is this normal or should I call my podiatrist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To me should take magnesium to relieve spasm. If not relieved, then, call your podiatrist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
