What Causes Increased Pimples After Taking Althea?

Hi. My name is Princess. 20 years old. I tried taking Althea few months ago to help me cure my acne problems and also to avoid unwanted pregnancy. It was just like 5 days i guess after taking the said OCP when I noticed more and more pimples appeared. DO you think its normal or its just part of its side effects? Please advise.

Hello,

I don't think that pimples are side effects of contraceptives but can be related previous issues of acne you had.

You may give them more time to go away. Antibiotics may also be needed and minocyclin is very preferable.
