What Causes Indentation And Bruise On Leg?

Hi. I would just like to know why I have indentation in my skin over a bruise on my leg. I sleep on the top of a bunk bed, and this morning getting down from it I slipped and hit my lower leg an inch or two above my ankle on the edge of my desk. I can walk fine, but there is bruising and an indented line where the desk and my leg made contact. What could have caused this dent?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern.
The indent on your leg is the place where the edge of desk has hit your leg.
- You can walk without pain. If there is no swelling/ pain on pressing the part at the site of hit , simple home management with cleaning, Tr. iodine paint & pain medicines over the counter would suffice. In case there is possibility of soiling the part with dust, Injection T T should be taken
- But in case there is swelling, pain on pressure consultation of doctor is advised to exclude injury to underlying soft tissue/ bone.
Thanks.
