What Causes Infant To Jerk Head And Pull Ear Continuously?

my 1 year old grandson as developed something that I casn only describe as a tic of sorts - we notice sometimes when he is sitting and playing that he jerks his head to the side a couple of times and then just continues to play. Just this week he had grommets fitted to his ears resulting from continious ear infections. He also seems to try and hit himself on the side of his head on occasions and does pull at this ears continiously. I am abit worried about the jerking of the head
