What Causes Infected Pimples On The Toe Knuckle?

I have two sores on my foot one on the knuckle of my middle toe. There is a black dot in the center surrounded by yellow and redness around that. The center is raised. At the base of my small toe , where it meets my foot is a similar sore, except for the black dot. It has the appearance of a pimple. I m using Mupirocin 2 per cent ointment, prescribed by my demotologists, for 5 days but it just appears to be getting redder. Help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial infection.

I suggest using an antibacterial cream for local application.

I also recommend to maintain the area clean and wash it with antibacterial soap.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
