Hello,

You have inflamed nipples and it is embarrassing for you. Inflamed nipples commonly occur due to steroid use, hormonal imbalances, having excess body fat, etc. Repetitive motion of running can cause friction between the skin of the nipple and the fabric of the clothing, which can lead to chafing, hence causing inflammation of the nipples.

Reduce your body fat, do exercises and maintain healthy weight. Wear soft cotton clothes and fabrics that are not rough. Sometimes, having higher than normal level of estrogen can cause the mammary glands to grow, resulting in a medical condition called gynecomastia. Get clinically examined by a GP, get your hormone levels tested.

Breast and nipple swelling usually goes away once estrogen levels returns to normal. Do not use anabolic steroids as it can trigger hormonal imbalances. Avoid taking food that is rich in estrogen like split peas, soy products, pinto beans, alfalfa, clover sprouts, etc. Avoid taking oily, fatty food, trans fat, full fat dairy products, etc. Instead, take home made nutritious food.

Take food that helps to increase testosterone level like ginger, garlic, fish and shellfish, red meat, high protein diet, cruciferous vegetable, onion, olive oil, etc. You can also take supplements. Get connected to a physical therapist and do regular exercises that will help to tone up your body. Medical treatment for gynecomastia are liposuction, tissue excision or mastectomy (removal of excess breast tissue or cancerous growths from the breast) if required.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
