What Causes Inflammation And Burning Sensation On The Index Finger?

Hi I was taking clothes off the clothesline a few hours ago. When I came inside my right index finger on the inside of the second digit felt like a paper cut. It was red and burning. So I washed my hands only to see that my finger under the skin as I pressed on it was all purple. It is still purple hours later. I m assuming it is a bug bite. Should I see a doctor?

if it's itching,i t may be an insect bite,take cortisone for that,if it's a wound clean it with povidone iodine,if the pain is excruciating,rush to an E.R.
