What Causes Inflammation In Joints?

Hi I have been told I have high white blood cell count. My symptoms are inflamation in joints.. every morning I cannot close my hands and because my elbows, hips,feet and back feel inflamed have to roll out of bed. I am tired most of the time. My age is 53yrs. Could you please suggest if seeing a Rhuematologist is correct?
