What Causes Inflammation Inside Navel Of Child?

My 4 year old granddaughter s belly button is inflamed on the inside. When I was able to look at it last night while she was sleeping, it was moist, blistery looking and maybe some pus. Part of her skin came off, assuming the top of a blister. Tonight same spot and another piece of skin came off. More tiny little blisters. Put peroxide in it earlier and it bubbled so much it looked almost like foam. Did it a couple more times until the bubbles were less and put triple antibiotic ointment in her belly button. Concerned what it might be

Hi,

Though peroxide is said to be good cleanser, direct pouring it on infected umbilicus that too repeated is not likely to be tolerated by delicate & infected skin of the baby.Please öearn proper dressing from a nurse/doctor & follow it as per advise.

Baby may need antibiotic&anti inflammatory drugs along with dressing.inj Tetanus toxoid is to be given if she has not received booster dose at 4 year of age. Give her nourishing diet with vitamin suppliment.Drink sufficient water.
