Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My right upper thigh right below my pelvic has a burning sensation for the last 11 days....almost feels like a sunburn except I haven t been in the sun for 6 months. It spans almost around to my rear end. Im concerned. Does this sound familiar to you?
This burning sensation may be due to neuropathy. This is abnormal sensations due to abnormal nerve structure or function of nerves in a particular area.
There are different possible causes such as: (1)trauma (2)infections eg shingles (3)diabetes (4)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency (5)exposure to toxins (6)liver or kidney disease (7)hormonal disease (8)idiopathic- cause is not known
By history , examination and possibly bloods, your doctor may be able to determine the cause and treat you appropriately.
I hope this helps
