What Causes Insect Bite Marks On Feet, Ankles And Calves?
I keep getting bites on my feet, ankles, calves at work and so do a few others in my area, but mine is the worst. I don t see any mosquitos or any other bugs, but the carpet is very dark with patterns so might not be able to see small bugs very well. What do you think it might be? I am getting very freaked out because I can t see anything and all of a sudden I just got another 3 bites on my ankle. Any ideas? They look like mosquito bites more than anything but again, I don t see or hear any mosquitos. ????
It is possible that the carpets have bedbugs in them. While it sounds weird, the bites do look similar. With dark carpets bedbugs and similar bugs are difficult to spot. It may be a good idea to get a pest control specialist to examine the carpets. Temporarily, take an antihistamine like Cetirizine which is available over the counter in allergy medications. That should help with itching and inflammation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
