What Causes Intense Abdominal Cramps During Sleep?

I get abdominal attacks. ONLY after I have been asleep for several hours, I am awaken with intense abdominal cramps. The stabbing cramps increase until I can finally evacuate my colon. I get cold sweats and sometimes vomit before finally evacuating. It appears to happen, but not everytime, I eat greasy food and an alcoholic drink. It only takes one drink. And it is many hours later after I am asleep that the pain starts.

Hi,

It can be due to some food related toxin or mild food poisoning an may settle in a day or two. Using acetaminophen along with anti spasmodic like drotavarine can be helpful. If problem persists get yourself evaluated by your primary care physician and get ultrasound abdomen.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
