What Causes Intense Chest Pain With Nausea And Rapid Heart Beat?

I had intense chest pains, naseau, rapid heart beat and shallow breathing today. I went to the hospital because I was frightened it was a heart attack. I am 31 years old. They did EKG, bloodwork,and chest xray. All came back fine. My blood pressure was 198/95. My blood pressure has never been over 120/80 and is normally even a little less then 120/80. They basically said everything was fine and gave me some pain meds. I asked about the high blood pressure and they said it was due to stress. I never really got an explanation for the intense chest pain. It felt as if I was having a heart attack. It radiated into my arm and shot down into my stomach. Could this all just be caused by stress?

Yes, possibility of stress and anxiety related symptoms is more in your case.
Stress can cause similar symptoms.
Stress actually cause hyperacidity, gastritis and GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
GERD causes laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Because of this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophagus and cause the symptoms of chest pain, stomach pain, nausea etc.
So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions.
Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution. You may need anxiolytic drugs too.
Don't worry, you will be alright. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
