What Causes Intense Pain And Burning Sensation On Scalp?
Hi! I have intense feelings of pain and burning in my scalp that I recently have come to believe is allodynia. Any stimulus to my scalp whether cold, a hat (skin feels like it has a bad sunburn when touched with hands or hat lightly), or massaging hands (like at a hair cut, the next day am left feeling like I have black and blues on my scalp). I've gone to dematoligsts, had scalp biopsies, and have tried to modify my diet but my pain and also hair loss continues. Wondering if Anyone has heard of this type of pain and if there are any suggestions on doctors near New York City or any suggestions on how to treat?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intense pain and burning sensation on scalp. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like allergy, migraine , side effect of medication , occipital neuralgia , whiplash injury , vitamin B 12 deficiency , neuropathy or cerebrovascular accident. I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination . Doctor may CT scan , MRI along with nerve conduction test along with taking history . Doctor may prescribe vasograine , nerve supplement . Doctor may also give alcohol injection to nerve root . Doctor may also refer you to allergy specialist for allergy problem .For now try to identify trigger factory which tends to start such sensation and try to avoid it and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
