What Causes Intense Pain In Groin Area Especially After Workout?

I have really intense pain in my groin especially after working out, bending down or lifting something .. I m a 49 year old female and have had some discomfort there got some time but it s been really pronounced since I fell 10 months ago and landed on my left side... There s no bulge but I m pretty sure it s a femoral hernia...

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I agree with you in the fact that it may be an inguinal hernia.

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical exam and an abdominal ultrasound to exclude this possibility.

A lumbar column X ray study would be necessary to exclude a possible backbone degeneration, which could lead to a similar clinical scenario.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
