What Causes Intense Pain Under The Collar While Leaning On Shoulder?

Hi, the other day I had just woken up and I was leaning on my left shoulder and all of a sudden it felt like something tore under my collar bone, very sharp intense pain. Now everytime I bend it a certain way or lean on my shoulder I feel that sharp intense pain again. The pain only lasts a couple seconds bit is so bad that I wanna cry. If you know what this could be that would be great. Thank you. -Samantha

Hi,

Is there any swelling, or tenderness on pressing over there? Without a history of fall or other trauma, a fracture is less likely.

If no swelling or point tenderness, you can try taking analgesics like ibuprofen tablet 3 times a day for 3 days.

If pain is not responding or recurring, kindly see your doctor for evaluation. You may be asked for an x ray then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
