What Causes Intense Tingling In Chest, Neck And Face?

Hello! Last night i was singing high notes and feelt a slight tug on the left side of my neck. Tonight i was practicing singing relatively simple songs and experienced intense tingling in my chest neck and face. I was wondering if this could simply be reflux or something more severe.

Hello,

Spontaneous tingling in chest neck and face are relatively uncommon symptoms. They can be called as paresthesia. Few probable causes of tingling are anxiety or panic attack, several drugs like fluoroquinolones, anti alcohol drugs, dapsone etc., Bell's palsy, multiple sclerosis, post herpetic neuralgia or shingles, stroke, migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, sinus infections and diabetic neuropathy.

Treatment always depends upon underlying cause. You can have tab. Pregabalin 75 mg once daily for 1 week and observe if the symptoms are reduced. If the symptoms persist or increase, please contact a neuro-physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
