Hello,

Heavy bleeding and especially intermenstrual bleeding in a woman over 35 years of age need an investigation to rule out problems with the cervix and also endometrium (the inner layer of the womb).

You will need a visit with your doctor which will do a gynaecological examination and also might take samples for a pap smear, and may request a transvaginal ultrasound to check the womb.

According to the findings, the treatment will follow. Sometimes the doctor may prescribe progesterone or estrogen to help with the bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
