What Causes Inter Menstrual Vaginal Spotting?

hi sir, this question is actually about my girlfriend, shes currently putting her daughter to sleep so i apologize if i dont have answers to all of your questions right away she is having a mild flow, a little more than spotting when she isnt on her period, pretty regularly, like3-4 days a week, she has an appointment this friday, but is very concerned, she had an ovarian cyst removed while she was pregnant with her daughter, and i do believe they removed that overy as well, about a year and a half ago, do you think they are related? she assumes she has cancer, she doesnt have a family history of it to my knowledge, but thats immediately where her mind goes. do you have any ideas what it could be? or possible solutions in the mean time

Hi,

She may have minor bleeding between periods during the first few months if she has recently started using birth control pills.

Infection of the pelvic organs (vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes, or ovaries) may cause vaginal bleeding, especially after intercourse or douching

Systemic conditions such as bleeding disorders, liver disease, pregnancy, and some medications such as oral contraceptives can cause irregular bleeding. Hormonal disorders such as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), premature ovarian failure, thyroid and pituitary abnormalities can also cause abnormal bleeding.
