Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello , I am a woman of 21 years, and I have some questions. Three days ago I went to the doctor because I had some symptoms that I notice they were abnormal. I had some irregular discharges of blood out of the cycle of my ruler and a few months ago I notice that I started to have some warts on my thigh very near of my genital area but not inside my vagina just in the surrounders. My doctor makes me a test of blood to check for viruses, and it resulted that I got herpes type 1. Also, She noticed that I have a possible vaginal infection due to my habitual sexual relations with the fingers of my boyfriend. My doctor also recommends me the following medicines. 1- Fluconazole tablet 150 mg, once a week for weeks. 2-Azithromycin 250 mg once a day for days 2-5 3-Acyclovir 400 mg twice daily for 30 days. My question is, my discharges are much less than three days ago but continuously. How long is it going to take me to stop bleeding? Because she also recommends me to make a pap Smith discard the possibility of cancer. This last part has made me worry a lot because I do not stop bleeding and I can not do the pap Smith under these conditions.
Based on your history and your observation of wart like lesion on the thigh and genital region and also the prescription of your primary physician, I would like to suggest you that irregular bleeding and discharge might take up to seven days to resolve. Regarding your concerns about paps smear, let me inform you that it's a routine screening test performed in females of your age, and further management can be decided by looking at the test results of a pap smear.
I Hope I have answered all your concerns.
