What Causes Intercostal Neuralgia After Taking Imuran?

my husband has been taking Imuran now for 5 weeks, he has been on the max dose for 9 days, 175mg/day. the last 3-4 days has been experiencing severe intercostal pain for 4hours, about 4 hours after ingestion? Should he been concerned. Is there anything he can do to decrease the pain? He gets blood work weekly.

Hi.

He is most probably experiencing some amount of gastric irritation and so I would recommend the addition of antacids and a change in diet routine and drink plenty of fluids
