What Causes Intermitent Twitching Behind My Lower Ribs?

hi. age 42. for about 12 weeks i have been getting intermitent twitching behind my left lower ribs. ther is no pain or difficulty breathing. my GP doesnt seem too interested - simply reassuring me that its nothing serious. Of course i am keen to believe that this is the case but i have still not been offered any diagnosis.
