What Causes Intermittent Abdominal Pain And Bloating?

random stomach area pain starts pretty dull then escalates to very sharp. When pain is gone, you can hear my stomach growl 20 feet away. Been going on for over a month. Does not seem to matter if I have recently eaten or not. Does not seem to matter what I eat. Wakes me several times a night. Right now, nothing, check back in a couple of hours and the cycle starts again. Been overly active since about 4 am.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a irritable bowel syndrome. A fibroscopy is needed to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest using a spasmolytic to relieve the pain. I also suggest using daily probiotics. In case of bloating I recommend using Simethicone medication three times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
