General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
As you are saying contractions are intermittent then these are braxton hicks contractions which are normal from later stages of second trimester. If its true labour pains then pain will be very severe, lasting for few minutes and severity and duration of contractions will go on increasing and sometimes there can be rupture of membranes with leakage of fluids, these occur usually during later stages of pregnancy.

Thank you
