What Causes Intermittent Bleeding Of A Blister?

My husband had a malignant melanoma on his back 15yrs ago. 3 weeks ago he woke up and a mole had bled in the night. Went to doctors and was referred to a clinical photographer s were he went today. Told he will hear something in a fortnight. Looks like a blood blister but is still bleeding off and on. Do you think cancer has come back? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello.

Thank you for the query.

15 years is a very long time. After such long time we can assume that the melanoma is completely cured.
Bleeding from a mole, usually appears due to its injury. And is not a typical melanoma sign.
Such mole should be removed and tested. Just in case.

Regards.
