What Causes Intermittent Chest Pain After Plasma Donation?

Hello,I have been donating plasma since May, I donated about once every weekover the summer but I've donated twice a week since September. I didn't notice anything wrong with me until last night. I had some abnormal chest pains around midnight and I took some acetaminophen to attempt at killing the pain. It was very hard for me to get to sleep but after I woke up the pain was gone. Could this be related to the plasma donation or something else? Thank you for your response in advance.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent chest pain after plasma donation . Well blood donation, is a very common procedure, and is not associated with issues like chest pain or lung complications. Most likely, your symptoms are due to stress and anxiety related issues or there is also possibility of other condition according to your symptoms that is acid reflux .In case, you still have doubts, you may consult with cardiologist , and undergo tests including a chest X ray , ECG and complete blood profile , which will help to clear all your doubts . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux . For now eat light and non spicy specially at night and take antacid after every meal .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
