What Causes Intermittent Cough, Fever And Lack Of Appetite In A 10 Year Old?
Child 10 yr old presents with cough on and off fever had fever the other day yesterday and this morning no fever now it s 103 degrees should I take him to dr also has no appetite eating but very little and tired it s been since Monday kids in school are having same symptoms idk about the fever but everything else was going around
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have intermittent cough, fever and lack of appetite which could be due to chest infection and it could be due to upper respiratory tract infection as well. It seems immunity of child is getting impaired. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined by X-Ray chest. Start treatment after proper examination. If bronchitis is ruled out then you should go for ENT specialist and it could be due to strep throat , go for swab and sputum test. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then take proper course of antibiotics to you. Take steam inhalation. You should do tepid sponging as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
