What Causes Intermittent Ear Pain While Having Nervus Intermedius Neuralgia?

My mom has a shooting pain off and on in her ear. The dr said it wasn t an ear infection. The dr mentioned nervus intermedius neuralgia and told her to take ibuprophen. Doesn t seem to be getting better. We aren t really sure what neervus intermedius is. help?

I really appreciate your concern, some time in very rare condition it may be due to trigeminal neuralgia and it can be given try with Tab Carbamazepine 200 mg three times in day, wax impaction need to be ruled out, hope this information helps.
