What Causes Intermittent Feeling Of Heaviness In Throat And Chest?
For the last month I have been getting an intermittent feeling of heavyness in my throat mostly and occasionally in my chest. Feels like a pressure. Is especially worse if I lay flat, but over the last week happens throughout the day also.
at times i feel like i need to take a big deep breath, and this relieves the feeling for about 30 secs. Over the last few days it even feels a bit frightening.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent feeling of heaviness in throat and chest is because of lung Infection/ upper respiratory tract infection/ bronchitis. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. Take throat lozanges. You should take pseudoepharine containing medicines for congestion but should be taken only after consultation with your doctor. You should visit pulmonogist once and get it examined clinically. Go for chest X-ray to rule out condition clinically. You have to get pulmonary functions tests checked. You should take combination of antibiotics, inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take steam inhalation as well. Sip on warm water on frequent basis.
