What Causes Intermittent Fever And Vomiting In A 5 Year Old?
Hi my 5 year old son has an on and off fever today with the chills. He keeps shivering badly. My husband thinks he likely has the flu. He has not thrown-up yet. My husband think his shivering is normal with the flu and that we don t need to be too concerned...and rush him into urgent care. Just wanted to get a second opinion.
The symptoms of your son seem to be related to a viral infection. I recommend using anti-inflammatory medications for the fever such as Tylenol syrup. I recommend to give him fluids and rest. You can give him daily probiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
