What Causes Intermittent Fluttering Sensation In The Left Ear?

I have an intermittent flutter in my left ear only - it has a fast flutter with a dull sound that I am not sure I can even call a sound . When it first started, it lasted non-stop for about 2 weeks, and then stopped suddenly. I was thrilled, but each day since I have it again at least once a day - this last time it started and lasted about 30 mintues, and got louder and suddenly stopped. I have never heard of something like this before, and don t know how to even describe it. Do you have any ideas? YYYY@YYYY
