What Causes Intermittent Pain Behind The Left Ear While Treating Hypertension?

I have a headache daily sometimes in the back of my head and always on the left side behind my ear. My blood pressure is borderline and I am on meds for hypertension. Do you think the cause is probably the blood pressure that is causing my daily headaches? I take one advil daily and get relief.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Hypertension is also called a silent killer, this is because it is not normally associated with symptoms though persons often believe that the blood pressure is related to headaches experienced.

When a blood pressure is extremely dangerously high, headaches can sometimes occur but it is not a symptom of a hypertension in the majority of persons.

The most common causes of headaches are tension headaches, migraines or sinus headaches.
Other causes are trauma, due to a mass, cluster headaches, side effect of medication.

You may want to consider seeing your doctor to determine if your headache is related to any of these causes.

Treatment would depend on the cause found.

I hope this helps
