What Causes Intermittent Pain Below Left Rib Cage?

I have a pain that comes and goes on or immediately below the bottom of my left rib cage. It s a little tender to the touch but not much. May be a sprain or bruise I m not aware of getting. No other symptoms. It s been tender for a day or two now. I m 71, female and in pretty good health. I take blood pressure meds but that s all. It will flare up without my doing anything. It feels better when I put pressure on the spot. Should I be worried?

Hello,

There are many reasons for the pain in the left side of rib cage like gastritis, diverticulitis irritable bowel disease or just gas etc. I suggest you to do abdominal ultrasound and keep a good lifestyle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
