What Causes Intermittent Pain In Buttocks And Irritation Along The Bikini Line?

I had deep pain in my left buttock that I never had before. Soon afterward I got the shingles on that same side. The left. Few weeks later I get the pain again in my buttock and tingling also around my bikini line and afterward I get this one bump that never leaves but gets irritated.this only happens after the tingle but happens often.pain in buttock comes and goes. Is this nerve pain or is it shingles again. Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Shingles may cause pain in the area that appears. I suggest using painkillers such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to use an antiviral cream for local application such as Acyclovir cream.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
