What Causes Intermittent Pain In Chest And While Breathing?

Recently I ve had a pain in the right side of my chest. The pain comes and goes, and it s dull but very strong. It s very sporadic, there s not really a pattern to when it hurts. Mainly, it hurts when I breathe deeply - more when I exhale than when I inhale. The curious thing is, the same spot also hurts when I press on my midsection, just below my ribcage. I have no idea what s wrong with me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems to be costochondral or muscular in origin but chest X-ray and EKG should be done to rule out lungs related or heart.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
