What Causes Intermittent Pain In Left Leg Of An Elderly Person?

Doctor, I am 68 years old in good condition-do aerobics 3-4 times per week. In the last month my left leg has on occasion buckled unexpectedly with severe pain from my knee down my leg. Within about 10 minutes I regain my strength in my right leg-still have some minor pain but within the next few days it is gone. Until today it would happen maybe once every 2-3 weeks. Today it happened twice within about 6 hours. What do you think I should do? My email address is YYYY@YYYY
