What Causes Intermittent Pain In Mylohyoid Muscle?
Hi, I have pain in what seems to be my myolohoid muscle. I have it pretty often off and on. My jaw also aches up to my ears, and I was told a few years ago that I had TMJ, but I just don t know if that is it. I also am naturally recovering from vocal nodules, but I just don t understand the discomfort in the tissue below my tong and around my jaw.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent pain in mylohyoid muscle . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like TMJ problem , bruxism or muscle spasm or strain . I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may look for malocclusion , defect in temporomandibular joint . Doctor may give night guard and prescribe muscle relaxant along with sedatives . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for neck problem . For now apply warm compresses on this muscle and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
