What Causes Intermittent Pain In Shoulder After Right Arm Injury?

How do I know if my should/upper arm is a strain (muscle/ligament/tendon) or could there be a hairline fracture.I had a fall on the ice 2 months ago and its not getting better. My arm went out and back when I landed on my right side.Pain ranges from nearly constant aching to sharp pains at times.Doing just regular types of things is painful, some more so.
