Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have intermittent pain in tailbone and buttocks. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like piriformis syndrome , sacroiliitis , coccydynia caused by trauma, such as falls and childbirth, along with abnormal tailbone mobility, infection, tumor and fracture. It can also caused by muscle stain or nerve compression . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to it thrice a day , take proper rest and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan MRI or physical examination. Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , orthodox MR , along with physical therapy and light stretching exercises . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for nerve problem .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
