What Causes Intermittent Pain On The Left Side Of Chest?

I am a 42 year old woman and have been having intermittent chest pain for several months now. The pain is noticeable but not severe. The pain is mostly on the left side of my chest but is sometimes on the right and is sometimes on the far left near my arm and not the mid chest - it seems to move around. I do not have severe shortness of breath but just a little. I went to the doctor a few months ago and they did an ECG and told me I have PVCs but not to worry it wasn't a problem. I sometimes get a little light headed at times too. There is no family history of cardiac problems and I am otherwise healthy.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
PVC (premature ventricular contractions) is not a problem if patient is asymptomatic.
But in your case, you are having left sided chest pain which is intermittent.
So we should not neglect PVC s in your case.
So better to consult cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg, 2d echo and Holter monitoring (24 hours continuous recording of Ecg).
You may need anti arrhythmia and other cardiac supportive drugs on the basis of reports.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
