What Causes Intermittent Pain Under Rib Cage And Right-sided Lower Abdomen?

I have been having a lot of pain beneath the lower part of my rib cage for months. It comes and goes while I am laying down or sitting. I have also been having pain in the lower right part of my stomach. That has been coming and going for the past few days. I would really like to know what would be causing these pains. Thank you for reading this and I hope that you reply soon.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

I strongly suspect a gastrointestinal (GIT) abnormality, most probably associated with the intestine. Conditions like irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, celiac disease, etc; all need to be adequately ruled out. A colonoscopy and elaborate discussion with a doctor will be warranted.

Best wishes.
