What Causes Intermittent Penile Itching?

Hey I m a 28 yr old male, the head of my penis itches sometimes, no rash, no discharge, no smell, just irritating itching at random times. It doesn t itch everyday, it can go days without itching. I m married, just one sex partner, we have been using latex condoms for over a year now since the baby, what could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome
I appreciate your concern
This could be allergic reaction which can occur due to latex condom or smegma present inside of the foreskin

if it doesn't itch or discharge continously chance of infection is less likely
i would advise you to consult your doctor for examination and investigations if indicated

have plenty of fluids
Wash your penis after sex or twice daily clean it throughly
avoid latex condom and use other methods of contraception
Maintain good hygiene

Hope you will find my response helpful and informative
best wishes
