What Causes Intermittent Sensing Of Unusual Smell?

I have an intermittent sense of smelling metal. I thought it was associated with something in my car engine as I seem to smell it occasionally in my car. Then after I do, it seems my olfactory lobes stay stimulated for awhile. Sorry, I don t currently have $15 on my credit card, thanks just the same

Hi User! Intermittent sense of metallic, engine or Mobil like smell can be due to actually having any tinge or substances of the metallic use or metals, engine oils or mobils used for the cars as you mentioned in the history. It can also be due to certain other conditions which may be related to injury to brain which may affect the sensory areas in the brain which seems least likely in your case. It may be better to observe the symptoms closely and see for some days how it keeps up with the changes like after maintaining hygiene by washing hands regularly, etc. I believe that may not be anything serious to worry about, but seeing the doctor physically is always the best thing.
